SUMMARY:Classical and Jazzy Nutcracker at Twin Rivers Senior Campus
DESCRIPTION:“The Classical and Jazzy Nutcracker\,” compares Tchaikovsky’s original holiday classic with Duke Ellington’s brilliant jazzy takes on Tchaikovsky’s scintillating melodies. \nThese programs outline the lives and music of Tchaikovsky and Duke Ellington\, visit the differences between jazz and classical music\, and compare and contrast their respective spectacular Nutcracker masterpieces. \nThis will be the first of seven monthly music learning programs we present at\nTwin Rivers Senior Campus. \nAll programs are free and open to the public of all ages. \nThis activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board\, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.
