Beside the concertizing and educational roles of OboeBass!, we are also the founders and organizers of a series of Coffee concerts at the Lakeville Area Arts Center (LAAC). We’re sorry that due to the Covid-19 situation, we had to postpone the Maithree – Music of Friendship concert we had planned for April 5.
We still do want to get together with our LAAC Coffee Concert audiences and open it to the internet! On Sun. Apr. 5 at 2:00 pm we will announce the roster of artists lined up for our 2021 season and air a live stream of OboeBass! playing a short 15-20 minute concert.
We’ll perform music of Tim Goplerud, Steven Foster, arr. by Eric Hansen, and Adrian Mann.
The livestream will appear at 2:00 on both the Coffee Concerts Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/coffeeconcerts and at our OboeBass! Facebook page: www.facebook.com/oboebass. (We’d also love it if you “liked” both pages to keep up with some of our activities and stay in touch!) We plan to save the recording and keep the event posted on our Facebook pages for a couple days.
OboeBass! looks forward to the chance to share live music in our virtual concert hall. Sorry we can’t share coffee and reception treats with you. By all means, do what you can to replicate the LAAC Coffee Concert experience at home! Brew up a cuppa Joe, prepare some snacks, sit back in a comfy chair, and enjoy our short concert and 2021 season announcement. We do have one last concert still scheduled for our 2020 season: Chamber Music Society of Minnesota performing Quintets of Mozart and Dvorak, Sun., June 7 at 2:00 pm. Performers include Young-Nam Kim and Arian Kim, violin, Sally Chisholm, viola, Tony Ross, cello, Sang Yoon Kim, clarinet, and Timothy Lovelace, piano. Stay posted!
